The American Legion was chartered by Congress in 1919 to serve Veterans and Service members. Our success depends on membership, participation and volunteerism. We are dedicated to Veterans, Community and Country.
Founded in 1919, the American Legion Auxiliary is the worlds largest Women' patriotic organization. We advocate for Veterans, mentor youth, promote patriotism and good citizenship.
The Sons of The American Legion was created in 1932. The SAL is made up of folks of all ages whose grandparents or parents served in the US military. The SAL assists and promotes Legion programs.
Still Serving America
Over the years Post 43 has supported the American Legion doctrine. We take pride in our efforts to support and improve the welfare of our Veterans, active Service members and their families as well as taking a positive role in our community.
Frank Patterson Post 43 is affectionately known to it's members as The Little Post With a Big Heart. Donation dollars from our Post support Veteran Nursing Homes in Melo Park, Paramus and Vineland. We actively support the VA Hospital at Lyons with monthly visits by our members.
We donate annually to charitable organizations such as the Community of Hope, NJ Mission of Honor and Salvation Army. Post 43 recognizes our civic responsibility and maintains a strong commitment to our local communities with a annual High School Scholarship program and quietly supports the efforts of many local volunteer organizations.
